Moi

I was surfing around and found an entry  in http://www.pinaymommyonline.com/ about her making cartoons of herself. I  decided to make one of my own using Face Your Manga. Don’t I just look so kawaii  here?

Hmm… it’s already 2:36AM and am still online…I should really go to sleep now…Nyte!

Boss checked the punch-cards today and he saw a lot of people coming very late for work (like 40-50mins) late so he added 30mins more to our working hours. BOO! This is effective starting tomorrow it seems and if people keeps on coming late after 2 days then he will add another 30mins. We were all like, “WTF???!!!”

According to Arab Times, expatriates who have expired residential permits (staying illegally) can leave the country without being blacklisted or banned from coming back to Kuwait if they leave between Sept 1 until Oct 15 of this year. After this period, the government will start “hunting down” expats that do not have valid residencial papers. I guess there would be more of ‘em policemen checking the people’s civil Id’s on the streets. Pfft.

Ramadan Kareem…

Today is the start of Ramadan, the month of fasting for Muslims. Well more of like, the start of Ramadan over here in Kuwait (I dunno…they said sometimes it can be a day or two earlier or later in some countries or some other sects…). Muslims should not eat or drink anything (even water) from dawn ’til sunset…but in Kuwait, they also do not allow non-Muslims to eat or drink anything in public (they catch you and put you in jail…). Offices would only have 6-7 working hours everyday and work-timings sometimes change as well. The atmosphere itself during the Ramadan season is different, it’s like the whole country is a ghost-town which sleeps during the day and goes to life again just after sunset. Even in a company such as ours where everything is usually in a rush, the employees do feel the sudden change in the environment. It’s like all of a sudden, everythingg justtt slowwwwsss dooowwwwnn.

Anyway, I ain’t complainin’. Our working hours are now from 9-4 as opposed to the 8-6. I get more time to relax and Ramadan Sales are everywhere. “YEY!” for me coz I only like buying things during sales…mejo kuripot pow akow…(I’m a bit of a cheapskate).

Hubby and poor Laptop

This is our new ACER 6920G Notebook. I named her “Alizarin” but I only call her that name when I’m alone with her. Hubby has no idea that her name is Alizarin…nor does he knows that Alizarin is a “she”. All he knows (aside from the fact that he married a weirdo—that, too, is another topic) is that this hawtie piece of numminess which used to be our dream-pc had become HIS pc-nightmare.

First he discovered that the only way he can connect Alizarin to his TV is through HDMI connection, other pieces of the same model has a VGA out but Alizarin dun have one (Minus 1 point). HDMI Cable was not included in the package (Minus 1 point) and it is quite difficult to find in the market (Minus 1 point). Of course NOT ALL TVs support HDMI connectivity (Minus 1 point). And then, the DVD-Super Multi double-layer drive is constantly giving problems whenever we tried burning a downloaded avi movie (Minus a whopping 1,000,000 points). I told him that it’s probably that we got a defective piece. But he had already cursed it (and the whole ACER company) after concluding that we were duped by the sexy appearance, that Alizarin is trash and that we would have bought that other HP laptop.

Personally, I still think that poor Alizarin is hawt and she was just misunderstood. I still like her and aside from the DVD-burning problem, the functionalities are awesome. It’s got a 250GB HD, 4GB RAM, 2nd Generation Dolby Home Theater audio enhancement, surround sound output, andddddd a nummie NVIDIA® GeForce® 9500M GS with up to 1280 MB of TurboCache™  (512 MB of dedicated GDDR2 VRAM) Graphics Card (AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!!).

We’ll be taking her to a service center one of these days (when we’re free) and see if the DVD-burning issue can be fixed. i do hope it gets fixed coz I feel so bad about poor Alizarin.

Then and Now…Now and Then…

When I was 4 years old, everytime I was asked what I wanted to be when I grow up, I used to say, “I want to be a nun.” A year after that, I learned that nuns cannot get married, and since I have this huge crush on a fellow-classmate named JR (He’s a real mestizo—brown hair, brown eyes, long eyelashes and rosy cheeks), I decided I wanted to be an accountant like my Grandpapa. Math had always been my favorite subject anyway, so it’s all good.

A few weeks after our pre-school graduation ceremony, I realized that I will never hear from JR again, and since I never bothered to know what his real full name was, I had to forget my dream of the two of us getting married and settling in some huge mansion in Europe or the States (yes, I had always been that ambitious *cough*and materialistic*cough* even when young). Well, it was more of like, I forgot that dream and replaced it with “I will marry any other nice and uber handsome, brown-haired and brown-eyed mestizo and we’ll settle in some huge mansion in Europe or the States. We’ll have at least 10 maids, 5 Mercedes-Benz’s and our own Jet plane too.” Of course, that other nice and uber handsome mestizo has to have the same nature as my Grandpapa, at least 4 months older than I am, smarter or at least as smart as I was (I am not being egotistic here, EVERYBODY WHO PRACTICALLY KNEW ME at that time told me I was smart and very intelligent, ay?), will never grow a mustache, and would still look as fresh as he had just taken a bath even after playing basketball (or whatever) in a very humid summer afternoon. And yes, I was this specific at 5 years old.

I was lucky enough to have met those type of boys, and of course, I ended up having crushes on them— my biggest crush was a neighbor who did not only possess the characteristics I had mentioned above, but also speaks fluent English, was a child actor when he was like, 4 or 5 years old, AND, his Grandmama (who was a Spanish-speaking beauty) was very friendly with my Grandmama. They were so friendly,  that they used to tease us that they wouldn’t mind arranging a marriage between the two of us when we get older. I secretly loved the idea. He hated it.

When I was in 1st year of high school, I discovered the world of anime through Sailormoon. And that was the first time I started having crushes on anime-characters. I wasn’t alone, there were a lot of girls like me who fell for them 2-dimentional bishounens.  And when I met Lantis, of Magic Knights Rayearth, I just had to add, “looks very cold and uncaring but really sweet”, “serious”, “seldom smiles in front of other people but always smiles when he is with me” to the list of characteristics I was looking for. I knew then that living in a mansion in Europe or the States, the 20 maids, 5 luxury cars and the jet plain were barely possible, so I kept the “only-if-we-ended-up-really-filthy-rich” condition with it. I ”downgraded” the what I called “THE DREAM” down to 2 maids, a car, a dog, two-story house with a gate, garage and a lawn, both of us having jobs that would make each of us earn at least 30k a month, and at least 4 kids.

I am married now. My husband, when he was young, looked like a meztiso—very fair with light brown hair and brown eyes. His hair had grown much darker, and he’s sporting a mustache which, suprisingly I grew to like. He speaks not only fluent English (no Indian accent, thank God!), but also fluent Portuguese. His nature is like my Grandpapa’s and even if he says he’s a dud…I really do believe that he’s very smart. He’s a joker actually, but he always have this special smile for me, and he can be serious when needed—That will do :P. And no, he does not smell :P (let me tell you a secret…a lot of them don’t).

There is no mansion in Europe or the States—only a 2-bedroom flat here in Kuwait, and another 2 bedroom flat in Goa, which we share with his parents. We don’t have a dog, we have one Persian cat, and about 14 (or more!) street cats outside. The two-story house with a gate, garage and a lawn might become something like a 4-5 bedroom bungalow instead….but we’ll get it in the future…there is still time. The car, we’ll be getting most probably in December, but not here in Kuwait, it’s quite scary to drive here…and the two maids? Hmm…we don’t need them yet :P… probably later. Besides, we are earning much more than 30k each in both pesos and rupees, so we can afford to have them later on. We’re still working on the first of the four kids I wanted (he said we’ll start aiming for two for now…we’ll decide if we can raise the target later on :P). So far, so good.

What about the luxury cars and the jet plain, you might ask. As I said, there is still time.

If you don’t vote for me and you vote for someone else, then…DAMN YOU, YOU EVIL TRAITORS!…just kidding.

I am still working on some projects these days so I have to postpone creating a new WP skin for me. I just finished finalizing the hawt Norwegian girl’s blog.  I didn’t do anything much for her…but she likes it so I’m happy.

Sikatchupoy si BURAOT Contest!

Being su-huch a greedy bugger that I am, I had decided to join Mr. Buraot’s “Sikatchupoy si BURAOT Contest!” Yey! Uhm…yeah.

But who knows? I might end up getting the 300 bucks?

Now according to teh rules, I have to choose an article in his blog, of which I decided to beeee *drumroll please*…. “Spam Na Naman!”.

Thing is, my  office email addy is always being bombarded by ’em “canned meat products” (they’re called SPAM, people, S-P-A-M!),  :

SPAM Type No. 1: Emails promising me that they can get mah…*ehem* longer and bigger (I’M FEMALE…I DON’T HAVE THAT, DARN IDIOTS!)…And v*agra? WTF???

SPAM Type No. 2: Emails telling me I won some lottery.

SPAM Type No. 3: Emails from some African millionaire’s lawyer begging me to help ‘em sorta smuggle ‘em dineros.

SPAM Type No. 4: Emails telling me I had just inherited a fortune.

SPAM Type No. 5: Emails telling me I can get all the girls I want (The hell?!).

Suddenly, it got me thinking, if all those were true, and if I was male, I would’ve been a “well-endowed” and “very energetic” multi-millionaire wiff lotsa hawt babes. And of course, I won’t run out of money coz my other rich relatives, who happens to have me as their heir, will just keep on konking off, one by one (for some mysterious reason)…leaving me all their moolahs. Wow! That is just so kewl! :P

Reason No. 2: Got nominated to be the Filipino Blog of the Week! If you, dear reader, can just click on the link, look for that small poll on the mid-right-hand side…click on that check-box beside the crimsonheavens item..and click the “VOTE” button. IN short, PLEASEFRIGGINVOTEFERME!

Reason No. 3: Still waiting for one…but am sure this is going to be one friggin FIIINNNNNNEEEE day :P.

WordPress Migration

Migrated to WordPress. Wot!!!!!

Decided to get rid of b2Evolution. Not that it is awful, I just felt that it would be more convenient on my part coz I want an easier way to add “Pages”. I would also wanna practice on my WP theming skills for my *ahem* money-making racket. I had installed Joomla in my site as well, hopefully I can practice on Joomla-theming too.
